The army hosted a musical show called Brave Heart last night at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium to raise funds for a recreational centre in Anuradhapura  for totally dependant disabled war heroes. The event, which President Mahinda Rajapakse attended, featured current and veteran celebrities along with disabled soldiers in an extravagant evening of music and dance.

Increase in fish production
Marine and inland fish production has increased from January to May this year, according to the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry. Marine fish production increased by 10.9 percent and inland fish production by 7.6 percent. From January to May 2009, off shore fish production was 51,530 MT and coastal fish production was 89,560 MT.
